Simone Cremaschi studies how political conflicts over material resources—such as ethnic and territorial competition for public services, the exploitation of migrant labor, and responses to climate-related disasters—shape politics in advanced democracies. His research also examines how narratives, collective memory, and local political cultures influence these struggles and drive political mobilization.
He employs a range of methods and sources of evidence, combining extensive qualitative fieldwork with design-based causal inference, and develops new approaches to integrate these methodologies.
